Is There a Skeleton in Your Diet
Closet?
What's
that rapping, rapping at your Diet Closet
Door? Could it be Weight Gain? Nevermore!
Time to let the skeleton out of your Closet
Door.
There's
an old saying, "There's a thin man
inside of every fat man just waiting to
get out," and although true, it's
easier said than done. But the point is
that thin really does live within - no matter
how many pounds one needs to lose. And by
thin, we mean 'a healthy weight'.
For
those experiencing difficulty in contacting
their thinner self, the following tips may
help get the skeleton out of the Diet Closet:
- Keep in mind that only
WE hold the skeleton key that unlocks
our Diet Closet.
- Although many individuals
struggle to gain the power over their
appetite, they already have the power
of choosing their daily diet - if not
the menu, at least the amount of food
that goes onto their knife, fork or
spoon.
- Think of food
as energy
rather than irresistible eats. When
meal time arrives, choose foods that
will fuel the body with good health
rather than those that may be fatty
or sugary and only serve to clog up
those internal lines (i.e. arteries).
- Strive
for good health rather than achieving
a 'rail-thin' appearance.
- Exercise
control. Individuals tend to embrace
the ability to control - as it's human
nature. Being in control makes us feel
empowered. However, when it comes to
weight - often our control button becomes
contorted. Rather than controlling what
we eat and drink for health purposes,
we place the importance of control in
our ability to choose what we want to
eat because it tastes good. Given this,
try to shift those thoughts. Choose
foods and beverages according to
health benefits rather than their taste
benefits.
The Basic Tips
Don't forget the basic
weight control tips:
- Eat
slowly;
- Limit
snacks;
- Opt
for water or low calorie beverages;
- Keep
a keen eye out for portion sizes.
- Marry
your weight loss plan to Mr. OR Ms.
Activity to achieve more impressive
weight loss results.
All
About Control
Although the goal of
the over weight individual is commonly Weight
Loss Success, striving for Weight Control
ensures permanent
recommended weight as well as a healthy
body.
