Strawberries
dipped in DARK chocolate
- Fresh fruit and radical dark chocolate keep calories
in check while adding octaves of health notes. Simply
dip clean fresh strawberries into the melted dark chocolate.
As a health note, almonds and other nuts are also delicious
dipped in dark chocolate.

Yogurt Cranberry Dip & Fresh Fruit - Arrange
the chocolate covered strawberries on an attractive
tray next to the tray filled with an assortment of luscious
fresh fruits with a bowl of fruity yogurt dip in the
center. We recommend vanilla flavored Dannon Activia
Yogurt laced with a bit of finely chopped dried cranberries.
It's hard to beat probiotics when it comes to healthy
digestive benefits. When married to cranberries, the
health benefits become so enhanced that one almost wants
to cry out with sheer Diet Joy. But don't cry now because
you'll need your 20-40 vision to prepare the rest of
this tasty New Year's diet friendly, party menu.
Low
Calorie Carrot Dip
- We've got the fruit tray, now we need a vegetable
tray. And what better way to serve those fresh veggies
than with our Low Calorie Carrot Dip. So easy to make,
too. Simply use 1 cup of cooked, mashed carrots + 1
small container of light sour cream, a dash or two of
ground cinnamon and either a bit of brown sugar OR Splenda.
Cute
as a Button, New Year's Baby Mushrooms
- Remove the stem from the button-variety mushrooms
(use fresh mushrooms) and brush clean. Next, brush
the mushrooms with healthy olive oil. Place into a 350-degree
oven until golden. Remove and fill with a spoon of your
favorite stuffing recipe (box OR homemade). Return to
the oven until stuffing is golden brown.
The
Old Tortilla Wrap With a Twist -
A party-favorite but this time you'll be using LIGHT
cream cheese (not fat-free) (unless you want your party
guests to gag).
We
like to mix the cream cheese with a bit of French's
Cranberry Mustard (generally found in the deli section
at the market), then we spread the mixture onto a flour
tortilla that has been cooked LIGHTLY on both sides
on the stove top using butter flavored cooking spray.
We allow the tortilla to cool, then spread on the cream
cheese mixture. Next we add lean thin-sliced deli meat
and skim mozzarella cheese. Roll, then insert frilly
toothpicks along the top of the roll, then cut. Your
tortilla appetizers will stay in place when using this
method. And the frilly toothpicks just bellow out, "Happy
New Year!" to your guests. The hint of cranberry
will also compliment your yogurt dip used on the fresh
fruit tray.
