SHOULD I DIET NOW OR AFTER THE HOLIDAYS?

Written by Sky Taylor, Diet Bites

ARE YOU 100% MOTIVATED TO LOSE EXCESS POUNDS?

If so, diving directly into your weight loss plan would give you the edge of losing the fat sooner - rather than waiting until the holiday season ends.

And brutally speaking....holidays are really 'never over', are they? If we prolong striving for better health, soon after New Year's, that cute little Cupid guy appears with heart-shaped boxes filled with creamy wonders.

Then the Easter Bunny hops into the forefront. What follows are low key holidays where we seem to enjoy filling our plates to the rim - Mother's Day, Father's Day, Grandparent's Day, 2nd Cousin's Day - any day becomes a reason to celebrate because....well, not so much in honor of our loved ones, rather because the greeting card industry shamed us into this corner....

And don't forget about those all-important Birthday celebrations unless you are over 39....

FOOD TEMPTATION NEVER ENDS

Be what may...the fun surrounding tempting food never ends. Who can resist those juicy franks topped with mustard, ketchup & at times, Mayo on July 4th?

Summer breaks has us dragging out the old grill & by the time the Man-Chef OR Woman-Chef is finished, the old grill is listing to one side because it's loaded with BBQ sauce, fat and lots of powerful calories, right?

Then...here we are, right back to freaky October Halloween, Thanksgiving & Christmas. See? Food temptation never ends.

WHY WAIT UNTIL THE HOLIDAYS ARE OVER TO BEGIN DIETING?

If you have very poor willpower where food temptation is concerned, it might be best to get serious after the holidays - then stick with your diet plan.

If you decide this is your best plan, don't sabotage it by eating 5th & 6th helpings from the holiday table because you'll soon be going on a diet. If you fudge & indulge, you'll likely have several more pounds to trim.

IN SUMMARY

Whether you diet now or later, the important thing is making your plan work for you! Aim high for a healthier body rather than concentrating on a specific number.

And whether you diet now or later - enjoy the holidays. Given so many unknowns in this day & age, every single day - as well as every moment of the day should be cherished.
