Weight Loss - Diet Plan - Weight Loss Program - Diet Motivation
Overweight? It's NOT Your Fault!
Nonetheless, life continued onward and, unfortunately upward on your scales. As time mounted, so did the unwanted pounds. One day, you suddenly decided that enough is enough! You went on a diet to rid the extra pounds. Your inner voice won out!
But how could you accomplish weight loss, you probably wondered? The only thing that you were certain of was that food was responsible for the weight gain. If you cut 'food' out, the pounds would go away. But what about your daily vitamins and nutrients? You felt confused.
To add to your frustration, everywhere you looked there was a billboard, commercial or restaurant luring you into their Food Web. It was maddening.
So as you can see, becoming overweight was certainly NOT your fault! So whose fault is it?
Simply put, it's a path that's never been addressed.
We've all got family traditions, right? Well, that's how we need to pattern nutrition. We need a beginning. Perhaps it needs to start in the home; perhaps it needs to begin in the schools, but 'begin' it must!
What should be taught? What should we know? - How many calories that basic foods contain. - How many calories we need per day to maintain our weight. - What our daily vitamin/nutrient intake should be.
These are the tools you must have in order to maintain your weight and fitness level. For example, when you bite into an apple, you should automatically know that this food choice has about 100 calories. This number should pop into your head instantly, just as the number '4' would if someone asked, "What is 2 + 2?"
Very few people are willing to determine and calculate their daily diet. It's time consuming and can get out of control. We don't want to reach a point where we're afraid to have that piece of cake and bowl of ice cream. So approaching the problem in this manner is a bit outrageous.
Therefore, if we were taught at a young age how to calculate the calorie and nutrient values of basic foods, we would have a big advantage in managing our weight. The knowledge would come instantaneously. There wouldn't be a need to spend time calculating because we'd know instantly!
The next time that you begin blaming yourself for being overweight - stop and think. Look around you. You'll notice temptation on every corner. You'll probably feel helpless and very frustrated because you just don't know how to successfully reduce your weight. You may feel very vulnerable and leery to trust all the diet info being poured out of the media these days. If this sounds like you, stick around. Read some of the articles at Diet Bites. We'll give you the information you need, for free, to help you win the Weight Loss Battle.
In the meantime, begin brushing up on the calorie-content of basic foods. You'll be amazed at how this will help you in winning the battle. You can do this!
