If the party has a band and a dance floor, take advantage by giving them your best John Travolta!  Sing as you dance, "Stayin alive - i-i-ive, on my diet" or something to that effect.  If you find yourself singing, "What kind of fool am I," you've obviously hit the banquet table.  If this be the case, dance like you're stomping grapes for a California winery.

C. Your Holiday Party Table - It's quite okay to display all the typical holiday goodies at your party. However, be sure to include an assortment of healthier choices.  Remember how you felt a moment ago at your business party?  That's the mindset that you need to use when planning.  Think, "If I were on a very strict diet, what would I be able to eat at my party?"

A nice tray of reduced calorie breads such as cranberry, banana nut and lemon poppy seed would do very nicely. Also provide a large tray filled with veggies and a light dip.

Tiny hulled out tomatoes filled with light cottage cheese and sprinkles with paprika are another very healthy holiday production.

Try to offer a lighter version of punch.  You don't want everyone at your party to go Sugar Brains.

D. Preparing in Advance - As mentioned earlier, it is imperative that you plan in advance for whatever boulder lies ahead in the holiday diet trail.  If you plan to attend an event later that day, then eat very lightly during the day.  Enjoy the party, then get RIGHT BACK ON your diet trail!  Do not falter or your weight will.  You will be listing like a tiny boat in a big storm-tossed sea - feeling lost, helpless, unworthy.  So be good!

So as you enter the Valley of the Shadow of Dark Chocolate (which by the way DOES have some healthy dietary benefits), keep the above tips in mind.  Remember, on January 1st you just may make a different New Year's Resolution this year rather than your standard, "I'm going to lose weight" one.  You may say, "I'm going to buy an entire new wardrobe - because I've almost reached my weight loss goal!"
