Diet Dreams - Fat Nightmares & What They Mean

If you've gained weight, you may also experience the type of dream that Tara did.  If you've lost weight, you may dream that you've regained your weight.  If you've always battled your weight, you may dream that you're suddenly thin.  All of these dreams act as outlets to release our suppressed emotions and are actually quite healthy - even though at times, they can certainly be scary!

In Tara's case, her Fat Nightmare represents her fear of someone who she feels vulnerable with, discovering her insecurity.  Tara is insecure about her recent weight gain.

She doesn't like it - no, not one little bit!  If Greg were to discover just how plump she's plumped up to, that would truly be humiliating.

Disturbing 'Fat Nightmares':  If you experience frightening nightmares, you should of course, talk with your doctor about those.  However, if you are merely experiencing reoccurring 'Fat Nightmares' that are troubling, but not disabling, try the following tips to see if they bring you some 'Dream Relief':

If your dreams are triggering stress regarding being overweight, try to lose a bit of weight by shifting away from unhealthy foods and towards healthy foods.  In the meantime, start noting some things that you really like about yourself.  You are an original - and there is no one else like you! Some of the things to focus on might be: a special talent - such as playing the piano, drawing, or cooking skills.

Next, go a step further.  Take a good look at yourself in the mirror. The person looking back at you is your best friend - and you always need to take very special care of your best friend.  Find something about YOUR BODY that you like.  It might be your hands, or the shape of your nose, or the way you walk or the sound of your voice.
