DIETING, BUT HATE VEGETABLES? SQUASH
THOSE WORRIES BY TRYING THESE DIET-WISE TIPS!
Whether you prefer fresh, frozen, canned
or dried, vegetables are an essential part of a healthy diet. The
good news is that vegetables are extremely low in calories - except
for a few such as corn and potatoes. Even so, the calories for a
medium potato weigh in at a mere 120 calories, and is so filling!
If you can't seem to tolerate vegetables,
or if you're tired of eating bland vegetables in your diet, try
one of the following tips:
rather than butter, substitute no calorie
butter spray; it can be warmed in the microwave and can be used
generously
substitute lite salt for regular salt
to discourage water retention
bring out the herbs and spices! Sprinkle
cinnamon and no calories on your baked sweet potato, then add a
couple of packs of Splenda. Or, dust your carrots with rosemary.
Experiment to create diet delicacies!
if you like cheese on your vegetables,
use the chesses that are lower in fat such as skimmed Mozzarella
prepare your vegetables in chicken or
beef broth for an unique, rich taste
stir fry your veggies using non stick
cooking spray
cut raw veggies into small finger-sized
chunks and enjoy with light or fat-free dressing. Light Mayo is
also a very sensible dip.
