Low Fat, Low Calorie Party Appetizers, Punch & Munchies For Your New Year's Party - Yes you can party while dieting!
Oh - get down & boogie! Yes, do the boogie on those bag of chips and containers of dip that you WON'T be serving at your party, which by the way, is going to be the talk of the town come sunrise.
Everyone will absolutely love you for serving delicious, healthy, wondrous Diet-Friendly party snacks and goodies.
Let us begin with our
tantalizing party appetizers.
You will need the following ingredients to prepare this recipe.
Chicken Breasts or Tenders
Uncooked Pork Bacon
Peach, Grape, Apricot or Strawberry Jam or Jelly
Begin by salting and peppering lean, boned chicken breasts (or use the tenders). Wrap uncooked bacon around the lean chicken, taking care to wrap the meat tightly. The bacon will stay attached to the meat, so no need to secure.
Next, place on oven rack, making certain to place a pan on the lower rack to catch the juices. (Cleaning ovens is for the birds.) The bacon will give the meat a wonderful, roasted flavor. Brush on a glaze after cooking is completed using your favorite variety of jam or jelly.
You will need the following ingredients to prepare this recipe.
tiny party bread
3 cup shredded chicken
4 Tablespoons Light Miracle Whip
1/2 cup, chopped nuts, English walnuts or pecans
1/2 head shredded lettuce
1 small can of pineapple tidbits or chunks, fully drained
Use the tiny party bread to make these delicious sandwiches. Make 'chicken filling' by adding together: the finely chopped or shredded lean chicken, the Mayo, the chopped nuts, shredded lettuce and pineapple tidbits. Use salt and pepper (white works well) if desired. Spread onto the tiny bread and decorate
with an olive and toothpick.
This is one ponderosa of a holiday punch that will wow and enchant all of your party guests. Let's drag out that huge crystal punchbowl and get busy. This will take you all of one minute to pull together.
You will need the following ingredients to make this diet friendly punch recipe:
|
- 2 to 3 large bottles of Diet Citrus Soda (Sprite, 7-Up, Mountain Dew all work well)
- 1/2 gallon of pineapple sherbet
- 1 large thawed container of reduced fat or non fat whipped topping, thawed
Place the block of sherbet into the punchbowl; pour in the diet soda. Add thawed whipped topping to the top of the punchbowl. Sprinkle with colored sugar crystals if desired.
Be sure to have some lively music so your party won't fizzle out before the punch. If you offer alcoholic beverages, plan to hire or have on hand some designated drivers. No one ever plans an accident.
Offer games for everyone of all ages at the party that are fun and that won't dampen the spirit of the party. There is nothing quite like a sore loser running amuck at a holiday party.
In addition, keep in mind that some of your party guests may not be able to enjoy certain party foods. If you are expecting vegetarians, then have some food on hand that they-too can enjoy.
There may also be other dieters at the party or diabetics who can't indulge in the desserts - even if they are low in caloric content.
Have a platter on hand that has been prepared with sugar substitute so that they can also enjoy the party treats.
Here's wishing you a prosperous New Year filled with good health and bags of gold!
