Quizno Menu Choices
for Dieters

Written by Sky Taylor, Diet Bites

Our top five choices based on caloric content.

When it comes to Quizno, one of the best places on the menu for the dieter to start is with their 500 calories or less section.

Those selections include: Broccoli Cheese Soup, Chicken Noodle Soup, Chili, and the following submarine sandwiches:  Presto Turkey, Smoky Chipolte Turkey, the Turkey Ranch & Swiss, Veggie Caprese, Chicken Bacon Ranch, Italian, Mesquite Chicken, Beef Bacon & Cheddar, Baja Chicken and the Honey Bourbon Chicken.

And then there are the delicious Sammies that are under 500 calories: Bistro Steak Melt, Italiano, The Traditional, Turkey Club, Veggie, Cantina Chicken, and the Roadhouse Steak Sammie.

And if you want to choose two menu items for under 500 calories - you can also do that at Quiznos. Our top choices are as listed below - and three of these include combo selections; keep in mind that these selections are based on caloric values alone and when dieting or not - to obtain the most nutritional values from the foods within your daily diet, the full values should be taken under consideration.

Menu Choices for Dieters at Quiznos Restaurant

1. The small Harvest Chicken Honey-Dijon Chicken Salad containing Granny Smith apples, grapes, dried cranberries, cucumbers, tomatoes, pumpkin seeds, and Acai berries for only 260 calories, 14 fat grams, 3 saturated fat grams, 0 Trans fat and cholesterol, 28 carbohydrate grams, 5 protein grams and 3 dietary fiber grams.

Enjoy this entree with a small bowl of Broccoli Cheese Soup for 180 calories, 9 fat grams with 4.5 in the form of saturated fat.

The total caloric value for this meal equals about 440 which is quite impressive for a gourmet-type salad and soup combination.

2. Grilled Flatbread: Basil Pesto Chicken Flatbread which contains all-natural Chicken, all-natural mozzarella, tomatoes, seasonal lettuce blend, and Basil Pesto for 380 calories, 16 dietary fat grams and 8 grams of saturated fat.

Enjoy with a small bowl of Chicken Noodle Soup for 140 calories, 4.5 fat grams with 1 in the form of saturated fat.

The total caloric value for this meal equals about 520.

3. Cobb Salad, the small size. It contains all-natural chicken, smoky bacon, hard-boiled egg, tomatoes, blue cheese crumbles, and Buttermilk Ranch Dressing for 310 calories. This salad also contains 13 protein grams. Like the Greek Chicken Flatbread and the Honey Mustard Chicken Salad selections listed below, the Cobb Salad is a bit high in fat grams at 26 total and 8 in saturated form. Substituting the dressing for a lighter version can decrease the caloric and dietary fat values of this salad.

Enjoy this entree with a small bowl of Chili for 280 calories, 11 fat grams with 3 in the form of saturated fat. You'll also benefit from 15 grams of healthy protein in this selection. HOWEVER, only enjoy one-half the chili to keep total caloric values in check with your weight loss plan. You can enjoy the other half at your next meal with a sandwich or you can even spike it up a notch by adding your favorite drained beans, reduced fat cheese, drained hominy and whole grain crackers. What yum!

If you enjoy all of the Chili and all of the Cobb Salad, the total caloric value equals 590 calories. If you just enjoy one-half of the chili with the entire Cobb Salad, the total equals only 450 calories.

Do avoid the Bread Bowl which contains over 800 calories and it's not a great choice for your weight loss plan. Remember - we're trying to fit as much food into your weight loss plan for the minimal of caloric values.

The total caloric value for this meal equals about 440 which is quite impressive for a gourmet-type salad and soup combination.

4. Grilled Flatbread: One small Greek Chicken which contains all-natural chicken, all-natural mozzarella, cucumbers, black olives, tomatoes, banana pepper rings, and a seasonal lettuce blend for 430 calories and 21 fat grams; 9 in the form of saturated fat. This menu selection is rich in protein at 25 impressive grams.

5. Honey Mustard Chicken Salad which contains all-natural chicken, smoky bacon, all-natural cheddar, tomatoes, and Honey Mustard Dressing for 360 calories for the small salad, 28 fat grams and 8 saturated fat grams.

This salad also contains 14 protein grams. Most of the fat contained in this salad is derived from the salad dressing which can be amended to a lighter, lower fat alternative when placing your order.

We do miss the Quizno Sponge Monkey commercials and often go around the house singing, "And we got a pepper bar." While they may not have appealed to some customers, we fell in love with them.
