You've been on one diet after another over the past few months or years and you find that rather than losing weight, you're gaining it faster than Homer can bake a prize-winning apple pie for the fair. So what's the problem? You've been dieting so why are you seeing a weight increase rather than a weight loss on those bathroom scales? Has Mr. Thin went on a tour and forgotten about you? Actually, no...and this may be your weight increase problem.... When an individual goes from one diet to the next, it's generally referred to as yo-yo dieting. The weight gain occurs between the diet plans. Therefore, if you've experienced a weight increase rather than a weight decrease, odds are it's due to your Yo-Yo. However, be sure to get with your doctor to verify because the following, sometimes serious conditions, may be the root of your weight increase: Diabetes, thyroid imbalances, hormone imbalances, allergies, and even a surprise-surprise pregnancy. If you're on a weight loss plan, it's apt to be filled with healthy foods. At times, the dieters fails to include sufficient calories which in turn can cause weight loss to take a dive. It can be rather challenging planning meal plates that are rich in food content without being rich in caloric content. Ideally, the dieter searches for foods containing the lowest - and thereon builds their plate. We have a recipe that we'd like to share - that is very low in caloric content and contains quite a lot of bulk. It's quite low carbohydrate friendly and contains servings from the vegetable, fruit, protein and dairy groups. Low Calorie Diet Lettuce Wrap Recipe When shopping at the market, bypass the iceberg and go for the big boy lettuce leaves. Take note of any imperfections in the specimen, particularly wilted areas and dark spots. The lettuce should feel nice and firm to the touch. If it is wilted, bypass and revisit the iceberg. You will need the following ingredients for preparing our Lettuce Wraps: 2 Large Lettuce Leaves plus additional chopped lettuce for the inside of the wraps Begin preparing this recipe by washing the lettuce leaves and allowing to thoroughly dry. You can use paper towels to do the job if you wish. Place the white meat in a small mixing bowl; sprinkle with the lemon pepper, cracked black pepper and the sea salt - and if you don't have lemon pepper, that's just fine. This recipe, as most of the Diet Bites recipes are very amendable as they should be - to suit the dieter's personal taste. Don't you just want to fall over and faint when you see a recipe that requires x-amount of ingredients - and if you're lacking one in your kitchen pantry, the recipe won't work? That's the pits. So feel free to adjust this recipe to suit your personal preferences where flavor and ingredients are involved. If you prefer dark meat over white - then go for it. If you like white pepper over the black - then go for it. If you don't like cheese, then omit such. If you don't like the balsamic vinegar, then use your favorite low fat salad dressing or Asian sauce on the lettuce wrap. If you like onion or sliced mushrooms - or any other vegetables, then feel free to added them. With the chicken seasoned, let's go to the next step - adding the rest of the vegetables along with the cheese. Add the balsamic vinegar and toss the salad mix to coat all of the ingredients. If you need more balsamic vinegar, then feel free to be very liberal due to its minimal caloric content. Spread one-half of the vegetable, cheese and chicken mixture onto one side of the lettuce wrap and fold the bottom and top of the leaf towards the middle. Next, finish the wrap by rolling it burrito or enchilada-style. You should have enough mixture to create two nice sized lettuce wraps. Both wraps contain about 200 calories - or about 100 calories each. Enjoy with a serving of wild rice.
