M is for
the Many miles we spend walking,
O is for
Our scales that keep on balking,
T is for
the Times we pass up pizza,
H is for
Hello to crummy eat-sa,
E is for
Every pound we melted,
R is for
Reaching goals and a smaller belted.
(I know, but it had to rhyme...)
Raising kids takes a lot of time. Some kids are easier to raise than others; some require much patience. When they grow up, most kids make their mother proud; on the other hand, some don't - even when the mother has done everything in her power to raise the kid to the best of her ability.
Dieting is a lot like being a mother. Dieting requires a lot of time - a lot of devotion, just like raising kids does. Whether a mother is tired or totally motivated for the day, she's got to do her best. Dieting is like that, too. Whether we're tired or whether we're totally motivated, we have to work to stay true to our diet plan in hopes that we'll reach our weight loss goals. Sometimes however, no matter how hard that we try, we just can't lose weight - we just can't quite reach our weight loss goals. We eat all the healthy things we're suppose to eat, we exercise, we keep a positive outlook and we never lose our diet motivation, yet we never reach our weight loss goals. When this happens, we may feel like a Diet Failure. We may feel angry, or lost or hopeless - just like a mother might feel when her kid doesn't turn out so well. We tried so hard - dog-gone-it! Time passes and we decide that it's time to diet again. Many times we make the mistake of going right back on the same diet that we were on before - the one that didn't work. If this sounds like an experience that you've had, try something new - something different to lose weight. Whether it's counting carbs, counting calories or simply reverting to a healthier eating pattern, shake it up! If you don't see success within the first couple of weeks on your diet - it may not be the diet plan for you. Good luck and we wish you great success on your diet plan! And if you're a mom, Happy Mother's Day! |
