The Diet
Monte Cristo
Ingredients
2 slices
of your favorite potato bread
2 thin slices
of lean ham
2 thin slices
of lean turkey
1 slice
of REAL American cheese
1 Tablespoon
of raspberry jam or preserves
powdered
sugar
non-stick
cooking spray
Spray bread
thoroughly with REFRIGERATED no calorie butter spray. Slowly toast on
one side in your pan that has been sprayed with non-stick cooking spray. Again,
you want your bread to be hard and crispy which will bring out a 'buttery' taste
on the crust.
Place bread
on serving plate (tops down) and add ham and turkey slices to the pan to heat
thoroughly. In the meantime, spread the raspberry jam onto the backsides
of the toast.
When ham and
turkey is warm, drag into a mound in the center of your pan. Top with
the slice of cheese. When cheese is slightly melted, transfer the mound
to one slice of bread and immediately top with the remaining slice of toast.
Dust with powdered sugar, if desired and enjoy while warm.
