Diet Article: Dieting Advice Worth It's Weight in Gold

Diet Bites has identified three Key Elements of dieting: The Mood Swing, The Venting Pit and The Big Bad Wolf. This is one tricky tribune and together they make those three musketeers look pretty shabby. For these three can either make, or break a weight loss plan.

But the good news is that all three can be controlled and you can use the information that you learn about these bad boys to improve your weight loss results - as well as your moods while dieting.

And yes, we all have moods but there is nothing quite like the mood of a dieter when things are going swell and again, when things fly south with that golden honeybun in the beak of Mister Weight Gain himself.

While it's best to concentrate on happy times, and happy memories - we can always learn from our history. More accurately, our mistakes. And we tend to learn more from our mistakes than from our successes in life. I don't know about you, but my successes have been far-outnumbered by my failures. One way to improve our rate of failure is to take a step back and view what happened amid a particular situation.

We'll discuss this topic below, but should you wish to jump to the Three Elements of Dieting simply follow the path below. Notice that the Venting Pit is a large, dark red hole which is eons worse than a black one. Red equals active while black tends to represent dormant. Which leads us to The Mood Swing; note that it is dormant in color. And then we have The Big Bad Wolf just sitting there, waiting to devour your weight loss plan the instant you turn your back. Beware - follow at your own risk.

Using Our Diet History to Accelerate Weight Loss Results

Let's see how our Diet History can assist with losing those unhealthy pounds more rapidly - and safely. Let's take a look at Dieter Annie. She is in need of losing 34 pounds of body fat.

She started noticing that her clothing was fitting tighter after she entered college and moved out of her parent's home. She wasn't eating well-balanced meals, although cereal was all the rage on campus. Students, including Annie went through boxes of the stuff. And the sweeter, the better.

By the time that she graduated college she had weighed more than twenty pounds than she had when she had entered school. This was her first diet - her first attempt at losing weight.

There was a fad diet plan that was hugely popular that was named after a kicky beach. She went onto the diet and a few of her old school friends joined her. That lasted about three weeks before it ended - and Annie was back to her former daily diet.

A year passed and she got comfortable with her larger size until summer approached. She was sweating much more these days than when she was a thinner size. It was time to diet again. This time, a carbohydrate restricted plan grabbed her attention; it tended to produce quick results at the beginning of the plan.

Two weeks later, Annie ended-up in the Emergency Room with serious kidney malfunctioning. Her attending physician informed her that her kidneys might be permanently damaged due to the carb-restricted fad diet. He also wanted to do testing on her heart.

Thankfully, her kidney issues rectified. The incident was quite traumatic for Annie; now more than ever she wanted to lose those 34 pounds and reach her healthiest state.

When she visited her regular doctor he explained that she was over-consuming about 200 calories per day and that was responsible for her weight gain over the years. She couldn't believe that 200 measly calories were responsible for her weight gain dilemma.

He suggested that she continue her currently daily diet with the exception of high fat and high sugar food selections. He wanted her to replace those with reduced fat and lower sugar selections. He also wanted her to add half an hour of exercise to her daily routine.

After Annie left his office she mulled over her former two weight loss plans. Both were fad diets. Her doctor noted that she was currently eating foods from the American Food Pyramid - and that was the healthy mode of weight loss and weight maintenance.

She thought about how the other plans had failed - and how one had almost cost her the use of her kidneys and heart damage. She had learned a lot by examining her diet history, the hard way. It was time to listen to her doctor's sage advice.

Six months later she had lost those 34 pounds in addition to four more as she found that after those 34 pounds were gone, she needed to lose just a few more. She is in the best shape ever - all thanks to her healthy daily diet plan.
