Do you really hate dieting? If so, you're not alone - because this is something that almost everyone can relate to! I don't know of anyone who likes being deprived of something they truly like. However, some individuals dislike weight loss plans more than others. In this situation, it is common that they have been ordered by their personal health care giver that they must do such 'or else' face the serious consequences. And what is the common reaction when someone tells us that we can't do something? While we know that we must follow their sage advice and good logic in the situation, we begin to yearn after those things that have been stripped from our life. If we once loved strawberry shortcake, then we're going to crave that strawberry shortcake more fierce than ever before. If we enjoyed double or triple helpings of certain foods at meal times, then it is going to be very difficult to resist reaching for that second helping. If we liked fast food, specifically in fried form because a lot of the fast food menu selections these days are getting healthy makeovers - then we're going to miss our fried foods like nobody's business. So at this point, let's pause and look at the above picture. What can we learn? Let's try to see the positives because without positivity in our lives, it's difficult to achieve and appreciate our successes. 1. That strawberry shortcake - as well as other desserts that are high in sugar and fat will require limitations because of their total caloric values, but that doesn't mean that we can't modify our favorite recipes - or that we can't ever enjoy these foods if we allow for the calories within our daily caloric totals. 2. Single Helpings: while we can't have all that we want of a particular food, we can have a single serving! Hey, that's better than nothing, right? And the payoff is gold in the form of feeling lighter, having less or no digestive upset issues, and most importantly - a healthier body. If we lose enough weight and get more fit, we may be able to toss those expensive medications into the trash as our heath issues improve or positively rectify. 3. Fast Food Dining: As we mentioned, foods on the menus are getting lighter and leaner these days. We have grilled chicken that is as flavorful as fried - with a plethora-less of calories and fat. Rather than ordering the jumbo quadruple cheese and beef, we can be satisfied with the smallest burger on the menu, right? And there are so many fast food restaurants offering the healthiest of healthy foods these days - from Subway Restaurant to Chick-Fil-A. You know what to do before you go fast-fooding - check the nutritional values of their menu at their websites or at Diet Bites.
