High Glycemic Index of Foods

Diet Article: Foods that influence blood sugar levels.

High Glycemic foods can be useful in those individuals who have problems maintaining appropriate sugar levels in the blood and are often considered for use by the diabetic to accomplish such.

However, before doing such - the diabetic should always seek the advice of their personal physician who is familiar with their patient's history.

Other methods - such as controlling blood sugar levels via ground cinnamon and chromium picolinate should also be discussed with the doctor before using. If these methods were all it took to control diabetes, all diabetics would be embracing them - as well as their doctors.

Low Blood Sugar & the Diabetic

Many times, diabetics get 'low blood sugar' (layman's terms) and must ingest foods - or take medication that will raise those levels back to normal as quickly and as safely as possible. If they are unable to do that, a diabetic coma may ensue.

High Glycemic foods can also assist during exercise in managing sugar levels. If blood sugar tends to drop during exercise, and is initially low, the foods below can lift levels back to the normal range swiftly.
