It started out as a diet - a simple little diet. Little did you know all of the controversy surrounding that four-letter word!  High carb, low carb, low fat, sugar free, glycemic indexes, calorie indexes, fat grams and too many weight loss sites to count!  You've already tried with your trusty little abacus.

You feel like a Diet Deer in the Headlights, you poor dear you!  Locked in the yesteryear of the Diet World where dieting was actually a simple process. Carrots and manufactured spring water. You can't get much simpler than that.

Yes, it is indeed a different Diet World - one filled with confusion and littered with empty Diet Promises. But on the flip side, it's also filled with hope for the dieter!  Your success at dieting stands a much higher probability than the dieters of Diet Yesteryear. With all that said, here's our top suggestions for Newbie Dieters:

Carb dieting is all the rage and know what?  It's working for a lot of people! Several carb-restricted diets abound, but the forerunners at this juncture are The Atkins Diet and The South Beach Diet. They might be the ticket you need to Diet Success. There are even 'customized' carb-restricted weight loss plans that are available. And customized generally means an even higher chance of your Diet Success!

There are also two very wonderful, very simple, very free planners at Diet Bites that are comparable with other weight-reducing 'programs, plans, and  planners' which sell for $19.95 and up. So why buy the cow when you can get the skimmed milk for free?  

These supposedly 'weight loss gurus' who seem to know it all have probably NEVER seen a 'fat day' in their life!  How can they possibly know what the dieter feels emotionally, physically and mentally?  You can bet your sweet bippy that I do because Sky, well, she's a living example. I didn't lose 10 pounds or a tiny 50 pounds. If you're in the back seat of my car, I'll get you there safely - no Diet Deers in my headlights, because I know the roads, the pitfalls, and where to take you emotionally, physically and mentally. I work very hard to make Diet Bites a FUN site for dieters, but I'm serious about your weight loss goals and about those of you seeking avenues to fitness and a healthier lifestyle.

In addition, most of these online 'creations' not only cost more than a hardbound book, they generally contain a 1,000-calorie per day menu and frankly, that's a very dangerous calorie limit that can kick off even more dangerous health problems. PLEASE, don't ever go below 1,200 calories per day on ANY diet that isn't 'doctor certified'!  And as we reinforce again and again at Diet Bites, even THAT calorie amount may be too low for many people. While dieting, if you ever feel faint, sick to your tummy, dizzy, have to trot again and again to the potty, or imagine little elves hiding in the trees in your back yard - call your doctor asap!!!!

Yes, we offer diet planners but our chief recommendation is your doctor who ALWAYS knows best! Losing weight is fantastic, but getting to your goal weight in a healthy state is the only way to go! And as we hope you can see, Diet Bites isn't about getting rich, rather about getting you Diet Motivated and where you want to be with your weight in your healthiest state!  

One of my mottos: "Always remember that fitness is far more important than thinness."  And another, "One need NOT be thin to be fit!"
