Healthy Food Choices OR
|

The good thing about food is that there are so many choices! The bad thing about food is that a good deal have been labeled as 'evil'.
However, the 'Diet Success Key' appears not to be so much the type of food that we eat, but the manner in which the food was prepared. Combine a bit of frying with Condiment Confusion, and well...
So at the end of the day, when all is said and all is done, it may all come down to the choices we make in preparing our food.
Baked, you say? Okay, that sounds good to me!
Next question, do we want butter, sour cream, bacon bits, chives, a smattering of grated cheese, salt, pepper, and some diced tomatoes on our baked potato OR do we opt for no calorie butter spray (a good teaspoon), lite sour cream, bacon bits, chives, a smattering of grated skim mozzarella cheese, salt, pepper and some diced tomatoes?
Oh my, we didn't know there were so many choices! IMPORTANT choices, at that!
Some foods are definitely more filling and stay with us much longer, and some foods just fizzle in our tummy directly after we've eaten them (i.e. officially known as The Chinese Food Syndrome) (gasp).
Even the foods generally tagged as 'evil', really aren't. It's all about how they were prepared.

So when we're dieting, we'll be more apt to achieve greater Diet Success if we incorporate foods that are generous in regards to serving size/calorie amounts, foods that are bulky and contain a lot of fiber, and foods that we like to keep our diet 'happy'.
Okay - it's time to take a quiz! What's your choice?
Lean Ham or full-blown Spam?
Cheddar Cheese or Broccoli Trees?
Chili Cheese Fries or Baked Chicken Thigh?
If you answered: lean ham, broccoli trees and baked chicken thighs THEN - GOOD!
