Roast your meats
either on the grill or in the oven rather than frying. Opt for lean turkey,
chicken, ham, pork or beef. Be wise and don't enjoy 'extra' bar-b-que
sauce with your meal.
The meats to avoid include:
- brisket (filled
with pockets of fat) If you have brisket, be sure to enjoy the leanest-looking
slices.
- fried chicken
- fried liver
OR fried gizzards
- picnic hams
- lamb (again,
if you have lamb, enjoy the leanest-looking cuts)
- white meat
contains less calories and fat than the dark meats
- ribs (very
high in fat and calories)
