Finally, a holiday
that can actually HELP you in your Diet Quest to the Land of Slimdom. A
few recipes, some snazzy meal tips, and one really fun way to burn off some
calories...
- roasted lean
meats off the grill. Try to stay away from those naughty winnies.

turkey
- pickled beets,
pickled okra spears, or pickled peppers picked by Peter Piper, of course
- breads made
with fresh grains

especially melons which act as a natural diuretic
- If you have
an ice chest, take along some banana pudding that you've created using fat free,
sugarfree pudding mix and skimmed milk, as well as the lite topping. Use
the lowfat vanilla wafers to save even more calories and fat. Simply toss
some sliced bananas in a large bowl, add 1/3 of the prepared pudding, add a
layer of cookies and continue this process until the pudding is gone. Top
with lite topping.
If you enjoy
the taste of nutmeg or cinnamon, then lightly dust the top of your pudding with
either of these rich spices. Take note though, that a LITTLE goes a very
long way!
