Weight Loss Questions & Answers

Did Someone Say Cabbage Soup for Weight Loss?

Diet Bites Reader Question.  I am always hungry and my doctor told me that I must lose at least 75 pounds of weight for health reasons.

He has put me on a very restricted diet of main staples like fruits, vegetables, limited starches, no sweets.

Do you have anything you could recommend that would help fill me up without containing a bunch of fat and calories?  Many thanks! ~ Carl, CA

And Yes, Diet Bites Highly Recommends Cabbage Soup for Dieters - Just Not the Cabbage Soup Diet

Answer. Carl, sure I do!  I'd highly recommend cabbage as it is extremely low in caloric and dietary fat content at 16 calories per 1/2 cup serving.

Cabbage of all varieties is also a rich source of Vitamin C, a cancer fighter, an immunity booster and packed with fiber.

I'd like you to take a look at a couple of articles relating to cabbage at Diet Bites.

The Cabbage Soup Diet and Hawaiian Dream Slaw- a sweet slaw made with no calorie sweetener - which might really help with the sweet tooth should you need a quick fix.

As to the Cabbage Soup Diet we highly recommended the soup recipe to eat throughout the day in supplementing your weight loss plan, but we do not recommend the cabbage soup diet that is too restrictive in caloric content and nutritional values.

The cabbage soup recipe is very low in caloric content, containing about 50 calories per cup and can be part of a healthy diet and weight loss plan.

I'll leave you with the nutrition facts for different varieties of cabbage referenced below. Good luck, Carl! ~ Sky at Diet Bites
