A couple of saying pop to mind: 'We are what we eat AND clothes make the man'. There may be something in that - and perhaps the two can be combined to achieve the look of a thinner, leaner body. You can see if you can look thinner by making a few easy fashion changes. For ONE WEEK, try the following Weight Loss Experiment that involves looking thinner based on fashion. For one week, let's start with this..... Simply make a genuine effort in dressing well - no matter what size you are and no matter how unhappy and dissatisfied you are with your body. When you look good, you feel good about yourself. And when you feel good about yourself, you're more apt to do things that reflect positively on your body, than not. Fact is, you're going to think twice about eating that no-no when you're dressed smartly, than if you're suited out in sweats and tennis shoes. And don't think that you're not beautiful/handsome (as the case may be) should you need to lose a few pounds OR a lot of pounds. One of the most beautiful women that I ever remember seeing was about 100 pounds or more overweight. She was of African American heritage and dressed in bold red. And she was 'dressed to kill' so to speak, and was working as a checker at a clothing store. Even though she was overweight, she took special attention in her outfit, her jewelry, her makeup and her perfume. She was an absolute delight and the fact that she had dressed so smartly, gave her confidence. I could feel her strength when I looked at her. So many times, people who want to lose weight have low self-esteem, and that just shouldn't be! Always remember that you are just as important as the person, overweight or not!!! You've probably heard of the common weight loss tip: 'If you're hungry and it's not mealtime, brush your teeth and this will drive the hungries away." Dressing smartly works in a similar manner, but goes a step further by providing you with confidence. It may also help you greatly to resist unhealthy goodies. How to Achieve a Thinner, Leaner Look - Fabric that circles around the body creates an illusion of bulk. You'll look larger in these types of fabric. - White pantyhose will make the legs appear larger than they are. - Big chunky shoes can add false girth to the body. - Black is forever slimming while white tends to blow the body up. - If you must pose for a photograph never allow the photographer to use the wide angle lens on a close-up shot. You'll look bigger than Dallas and will want to pound his (or her) fancy camera over their head. In addition, don't take photos with the camera situated at ground level and pointing upwards towards the body. This also creates a larger image than real life. At the end of the week, do your weigh-in. Did you lose weight by taking care with your appearance during the week? If so, try to make this an important part of your overall weight loss plan.
