DO A BEVERAGE SHUFFLE FOR WEIGHT LOSS SUCCESS

Could eating light for dinner assist with weight loss?

Oh my - those pesky beverage calories can really stall a weight loss plan. Some beverages and drinks contain more calories than a healthy meal.

For example, one serving of soda contains twice the calories as a cup of canned chicken noodle soup - enough room to add 5 saltine crackers. And that soda isn't going to stick with you as long as soup and crackers.

Liquids are processed and dispensed swiftly in the body. While that soda is long-gone, the body will still be working to process the chicken soup and crackers.

When it comes to alcohol, the caloric content is downright frightening. One little ounce of some alcoholic drinks contain well over 100 calories. As to beer, the bloating effects are significant - worse than if the individual had eaten a bait of broccoli.

Because beverages and drinks can be high in caloric content, limiting them to drop unwanted pounds can assist greatly with weight loss. On the other hand, slenderized versions of beverages and drinks can equally assist greatly in the area of weight loss.

While zero calorie drinks and beverages are all the rage, not everyone can tolerate the flavor. They may taste 'off' or just not anywhere close to the flavor of the regular version. And some may worry about the health impact of fake sugar. I know that I certainly do - and while sugar substitutes can assist with losing weight it's best to get weaned after the weight loss goal has been reached. Fake sugars may impact the endocrine system; they may trigger or heighten allergy symptoms.

Keeping in mind that liquids in the body disburse quicker than solids this 'diet experiment' may prove to be a bit difficult.

For one week, rather than eating your regular dinner, try this for weight loss results:

Day 2, 4 & 6 - enjoy a serving of cereal and skim milk for breakfast. For snacks - enjoy 2 servings of fruit each day. Eat a good lunch with a cup of skim milk as the beverage. For dinner enjoy a serving of chicken noodle soup OR your favorite broth-based soup with a serving of crackers.

Also take 2 cups of skim milk, sugar substitute OR a spoon of table sugar and 1/2 cup of frozen sliced strawberries and whirl in a blender. You'll have a nutritious shake that thick, delicious and extremely satisfying to enjoy with your soup.

Day 1, 3, 5 & 7 - Repeat breakfast and lunch suggestions as noted above. Enjoy a nice LARGE salad for dinner with a serving of bread. Your salad may look something like this: 3 cups of lettuce, spinach or a mix of greens; cherry tomatoes, sliced cucumber, sliced mushrooms, radish, shredded carrots and light salad dressing.

Again, prepare a shake using frozen sliced fruit and skim milk. If you don't have frozen fruit on hand then use fresh fruit along with a bit of crushed ice. If the milk isn't ice cold it won't whip well in the blender.

Dinner should always be the lightest meal of the day because it's hard to burn off the calories before retiring for the night.

At the end of the week, see if you achieved weight loss.  If so, this may indeed be a key to your Weight Loss Success.
