How Does
Your Food Add Up?
A few extra seconds of your time could
be all that you need to lose weight. How so? How could
losing weight be 'THIS' easy?
For ONE WEEK, try the following Diet
Experiment. Be sure and weigh the morning you begin your Diet Experiment
and again on the first morning after your experiment has ended.
For one week, eat according to the Nutrition
Pyramid:
- Milk, Yogurt
& Cheese Food Group: 2-3 Servings
- Vegetable Food
Group: 3-5 Servings
- Meat, Poultry,
Fish, Dry Beans, Eggs & Nuts Group: 2-3 Servings
- Fruit Group:
2 - 4 Servings
- Bread, Cereal,
Rice & Pasta Group: 6-11 Servings
- Fats, Oils
& Sweets - Use Sparingly
-
The key is to be certain that you are
eating the recommended serving size. Measure out your food if necessary.
Try sticking to the minimum recommended servings,
or shoot for the middle recommendations.
For ONE WEEK, try to eat foods in their
natural forms. In other words, stay away from casseroles, 'meat
helpers', and recipes in general. Eat your lean meat in a roasted
or broiled form. Steam those veggies.
If you absolutely can't live without
something sweet, try sticking an apple that has been cut into cubes
(leave the peeling on) into the microwave for 2 minutes. Don't add
any water. Remove carefully; add a dash of cinnamon. Allow to cool
a bit, then add some no calorie butter spray. Next, sweeten
with either a bit of sugar or Equal/Splenda.
How well did you do? Are you consuming
the recommended portion sizes? Did the numbers on your scale go
down a bit?
And finally, this Diet Experiment is
great for helping you establish a healthy eating pattern and in
learning about the types of foods necessary for optimum nutrition.
This may be all that you need to do to ensure Weight Loss
Success!
