Diet Jingle Bells Recipe

This recipe requires the following ingredients:

1/2 cup of Old-Fashioned Oats - Uncooked

1 Teaspoon of Golden Raisins

1 Teaspoon of Dark Raisins

1 Teaspoon of Dried Cranberries

1 Teaspoon of Chopped Pecans

1 Chopped Fresh Dates, if desired

1 Tablespoon of Brown Sugar, either dark or light

1/3 - 1/2 Ripened Banana - Mashed

1 Teaspoon of REAL Rum OR Vanilla Extract

Mix all of the ingredients and form dessert balls.  This recipe makes a lot of appetizers for about 2 servings; 150 calories per serving.

All of the ingredients used in this recipe except the brown sugar are very healthy and can fit into any healthy diet plan.

The mashed banana assists in holding the recipe ingredients together and adds moistness without the addition of fat. The liquid in the extracts also assist in binding.

This recipe can also be turned into a tasty cereal mix. Simply prepare the oatmeal as directed on the package; add all of the remaining ingredients except the banana and enjoy with a 1/2 cup serving of skim milk. It will keep you feeling full for several hours.
