    DIETING - A FREE SAMPLE OF A SIMPLE DIET MENU

How do I get in all of my daily food recommendations without going over my calorie limit?  1,700 calories per day is simply too many calories for me to experience weight loss, so how can I keep my diet healthy?

The tricky part is to find a way to reduce the number of calories while keeping all of the recommended servings per day. So think of your diet in very simple terms....

Look for foods that are lowest in calories, yet which pack a high Nutritional Punch and enjoy those foods.  Here are a few example of 'food switching':

Fruits:

Rather than enjoying a pear, banana or apple which contain about 100 calories each try enjoying a cup of berries, or a plum or a peach.  All of these choices contain less than half the calories of the pear, banana and apple.

Vegetables:

Rather than enjoying a cup of pasta, enjoy a medium sized potato instead which contains almost half the calories of the pasta.  Another good food switching choice is green beans rather than corn which contain about 1/5 the calories of corn.

As you can see, a bit of food switching can ensure a diet high in nutrition and also be diet-friendly.

There are also many other aspects of dieting, such as the inclusion of fiber, iron and other vital  nutrients.  Even so, the basics for a great diet begin with a simple menu that contains the simple food groups.  Just the basics, mam.....
