A one cup serving of whole strawberries is just shy of 50 calories. And when the strawberries are juicy and sweet, who needs a sugary dessert!

Make a delicious quick strawberry bread using a tiny loaf pan. You will need the following ingredients: 1/2 cup of all purpose flour, 1/4 cup of sliced fresh strawberries - or you can use thawed frozen strawberries; Splenda for sweetening powers.

Add a splash or two of reduced fat milk and combine the ingredients.

Place batter into a miniature loaf pan that has been sprayed with cooking spray to prevent sticking. Bake in toaster oven at 350 degrees until golden brown OR you can opt to use a microwave-safe pan and cook in the microwave.

Strawberry Bread Pudding Recipe

You will require the following ingredients to prepare this delicious bread pudding: 2 slices of day-old bread pinched into bite-sized pieces, 1/2 cup of sliced strawberries, Splenda and reduced fat milk.

You can also add a teaspoon of melted light margarine to the recipe.

Start by placing bread into a microwave-safe bowl. Add the strawberries and the Splenda. The amount of sweetening power you use will depend upon your personal taste preferences. Add the melted margarine and the reduced fat milk. Just add enough milk to coat the bread and berries.

Place into microwave for about five minutes. Remove and enjoy.

Strawberry-Spinach Salad Recipe

Prepare a low calorie salad by mixing the following ingredients: 1/2 bag of baby spinach (raw form), 1 cup of fresh sliced strawberries and 1/4 cup of light raspberry-walnut salad dressing.

Sliced boiled eggs can also be added to take this low calorie salad up a notch without adding a plethora of calories and fat grams.

Dark chocolate renders heart-healthy benefits when enjoyed in moderation. The best time of the year to find larger varieties of strawberries at your market in the spring when berries abound.

100 Calorie Skinny Shake

Make a delicious 100-calorie Strawberry Skinny Shake! You will need the following ingredients to prepare this diet recipe: 3/4 cup of skim milk, 1/2 cup of frozen strawberries, dash of strawberry extract and a dash of vanilla extract. Blend until thick.

This makes a great anytime snack and contains ingredients which fit nicely into the Fruit Group and the Dairy Group housed within the Healthy Food Pyramid.
