- On Monday the dieter is focused on their weight loss plan. On Tuesday, they go a bit ape with a box of KFC chicken. On Wednesday, they decide to eat healthy again. This eating mode begs for a little tender care and a can of calorie-free oil to smooth the hinges. - Jane decides to go on a diet plan but it's been so long that she doesn't quite know where to start. So she does what many dieters do by going to the market and loading up on cabbage, cucumbers, celery and carrots. Jane's new diet is so rusty that it's apt to fall off the hinges before she gets out of the Diet Gate. - Hank decides to go on a diet at the first of the year but then decides to wait until after Cupid visits and then decides to wait until after the Easter bunny visits and then the Fourth - and after summer vacation, and then - what the heck, it's almost Halloween and the beginning of the famous Golden Feasting Quarter of the Year. Only a Dieting Idiot would miss that, Hank decides. He'll wait and go on a diet come the first of next year, he promises himself. Hank's vision of weight loss has become buried in a heap as the year passed by. It's not only covered in rust, it would take a backhoe to find it. - Fred is interested in dropping several pounds so he decides to go on a new egg boiled egg diet. Eggs are low in calories, decent in protein grams and low in dietary fat content. Unfortunately for Fred they are also extreme when it comes to producing painful gas - as he discovered when discussing an important business plan with his rusty old boss who happens to own perfect nostrils. Too bad that they weren't made of steel... - Jenny is also interested in dropping pounds and she also goes on a fad one-food diet. Her food choice is cabbage. Need we say more? Well, let's do as we want to see what happened to Jenny. Did she lose weight? Was she bored? Jenny's diet plan last an entire six hours. It was at this point that she returned to her former diet that was mined with too many calories to support her recommended weight. In Summary: When dieting - don't do the same-old routine. Mix it up! Make dieting more interesting. Rather than grazing on common diet foods, try something different. Example: Becky went on a diet plan and knew that celery was low in caloric content. She happened to love full-blown cream cheese. The light stuff wasn't so good-tasting. So she put on her thinking cap and tried the whipped version at the market. It tasted so lovely and contained about as many calories as the light version of cream cheese. She was very careful about the amount that she added to her stalk of celery - only 1/2 of the recommended serving amount for a skinny 30 calories. Becky was happy; she was enjoying the foods that she loved without having to sacrifice flavor. She went on to apply this type of thinking to her weight loss plan and three months later sailed over the Diet Finish Line, reaching her 40 pound weight loss goal.
