If you have a desk job, try the following tips to assist in faster weight loss:

Avoid Snack & Soda Machines

Keep away from those snack and soda machines. Instead, opt to bring your own healthy mix of snacks and lunch entrees. Additional perk? You'll save $$.

Every Little Step Counts

Get up and move whenever possible. Take the stairs over the elevator when you can.

Stretch Often

Stretch your legs and arms at your desk as stretching helps burn calories as well as works your muscles. Try flexing your feet by bringing your toes towards the front of your legs. Hold for a few seconds and then relax.

Tip for Avoiding Blood Clots & Leg Aches

Sitting in one position for long periods of time may contribute to blood clots - all the more reason to get up and move. Every 15 minutes, try to stand and move about a bit before settling into your chair.

Avoid Stress

Keep stress out of the work place. If you have a misunderstanding with a friend or family member, let it rest until you get off work.

Focusing on your relationship problems while at work takes your mind off of your job responsibilities and only serves to accomplish negative things. On the other hand, if you work for a stressful boss, get busy locating another job.

Believe me, there are jobs out there where the boss treats you like an equal rather than playing the part of master and king.

Co-Workers & Treats

If someone brings in treats, enjoy one and be done.

Take Your Break

Don't skip breaks. A break will sharpen your awareness and you'll make less mistakes and feel less tired at the end of your work day.

Use Fitness Amenities Offered by Your Company

Make use of any fitness amenities that your company provides - from the fitness center to a walking trail.

Volunteer for activities outside of the office that your company may sponsor. This will give you a break from your routine and provide extra activity while doing something notable for your community. 

Most Importantly

When you do eat, watch the amount of food intake. Calories add up quicker than a wink - and because desk jobs tend to be sedentary, it's difficult to burn off any excess calories unused by your body.

When weight gain happens, it's not pretty. You don't feel perky in the mornings and generally have a fitful rest during the night. Heartburn and other ills plague the overweight body.

Not only does the body suffer from morning fog, it's difficult to find enough energy to get moving. You may just want to sit and molt.

After work, try to enjoy your evening meal as early as possible so your food has time to properly digest. Watch those evening snacks as well - and don't even think about eating when bedtime grows near.

In Summary

It's possible to have a fit body when your occupation involves desk work - but you'll have to work harder at keeping your body fit as well as monitoring what you put into your belly.
