Cherries, strawberries and fresh skim milk - what a collection of good things from Mother Nature's Pantry. And on look - she's even adding a few edible rose petals to our delicious diet shake.
Rose Covered Glasses, a Diet Shake Recipe
Serves 2 for about 125 calories each
1 ½ cups of ice cold skim milk
1 cup of frozen or fresh cherries
1 cup of frozen or fresh strawberries
1-3 packets of Splenda or Equal if extra sweetness is desired
Assorted edible rose petals (optional)
Blend all of the above skinny shake ingredients until they are light and frothy in texture. Next, pour into chilled glasses and serve ice cold. Garnish with rose petals. Pop in a few extra cherries and strawberries for additional magic.

Oh the myriad of ways with canned beans. They can easily stand on their own alongside a wedge of golden cornbread. They can be mixed with other beans to create a multiple bean dish. They can go into chili and casserole recipes - the ways that you can take this versatile ingredients are unlimited.
And there are so many different varieties and colors. One of the most simple ways to use them is to mix them with grilled low fat franks that have been cut into bite-sized circles. Add them to the beans and top with low fat grated cheese if desired.
Another quick recipe is to mix your favorite beans together - making sure that the flavors compliment one another, then add a can of diced tomatoes and a package of your favorite Mexican seasonings along with chopped onion and cilantro.
To make a delicious bean dip, mash pinto beans into a fine consistency. At this point you can add your favorite hot sauce or salsa along with your favorite Mexican seasonings. Place the ingredients into a food processor and blend until all of the ingredients reach a smooth consistency.
What about bean nachos? You can leave them whole or mash them as you did for the bean dip. Season with ground chili powder then smear or sprinkle onto warmed tortilla chips. Add your favorite low fat cheese, then slide into a warm oven to melt the cheese. Serve with low fat sour cream and jalapeno pepper - and a side of salsa.
Canned black beans mix exceptionally well with canned corn and makes a lovely side dish. Top with grated low fat cheese if desired; you can even add some extra lean ground hamburger meat to the recipe along with your favorite seasonings if desired.
What about bean tacos? Substitute the meat for black, pinto or red beans.
This is a very delicious alternative to red meat and the taco is one healthy amigo as it contains all five of the important food groups: taco shell goes into the grain group, lettuce and onions go into the vegetable group along, the beans go into the protein group, the tomato goes into the fruit group and the shredded low fat cheese fits into the dairy group.
What a healthy item to place onto your weight loss menu, eh!
Bean burritos are also another great food to prepare with canned beans. Simply season and add to warm flour tortilla shells along with a bit of salsa and shredded cheese. Fold and enjoy!
