One Moo-valous Shake, a Diet Drink Recipe
Serves 4 for about 120 calories each
2 cups of ice cold skim milk
1/4 cup of crushed ice
1 cup of vanilla fat free/sugar free yogurt
1 teaspoon of REAL vanilla extract
1 can of Tropical Fruit Mix, undrained
Blend all of the skinny shake ingredients except the fruit until they are thick and frothy.
Add fruit to blender or mixing bowl. Gently blend for about 2 seconds – just enough to break up the larger pieces of fruit so they will pass through a straw and are in a drinkable form. Pour the skinny shake into chilled beverage containers and then top with reduced fat whipped topping if desired.
You can even fold the topping into the skinny shake mixture if you wish for an even thicker shake.

We can mash or puree fruit and add it as a substitute for oil and other fats in our recipes. We can add it simply to produce more moisture in our recipe - or flavor.
We can use the juice to also add flavor and enhance other ingredients we use in a dish. So many different ways to use fruit and when they are in their canned form - they are readily available, economical and they have a very long shelf life in comparison to their fresh peers.
And be sure to purchase canned fruits that are packed in their natural juices for the most nutritional values and for the lowest amount of caloric content.
