What is a Serving Size of Peanut Butter?

One serving of peanut butter contains about 190 calories. And what is a serving size? Imagine the size of a golf ball; that's the perfect serving size.

Now if you're looking to trim down the calories significantly, opting for the Peter Pan whipped variety can do exactly that. You'll save

about 1/3 the calories along with dietary fat content.

Diet Tips for Peanut Butter

- This is an oldie but goldie: fill celery stalks with peanut butter. For a change, add a few dried cranberries or raisins (dark or golden) to the thin line of peanut butter. Simply push the dried fruit into the mellow butter.

- Measure out a serving size; add 1 small smashed banana and enjoy with your favorite whole grain crackers.

- Mix peanut butter with raw oats and Splenda for a quick no-bake cookie.

- Another quick no bake peanut butter cookie recipe from Diet Bites is to mix Rice Krispy cereal with the peanut butter and a bit of Splenda. Add a few chopped walnuts or pecans as well as dried cranberries or dark raisins. Yum!

Peanut butter also makes a delicious, rich breakfast when smeared onto whole grain toast, waffles or pancakes.

Enjoy with the lighter syrups if you must have syrup. Karo makes a pancake version that's very low in sugar and contains zero sugar substitute. It's an excellent product and can really be a nice treat if you're wanting a bit more sweetness.
