Misted Morning Dew, a Diet Shake Recipe

Serves 1 for about 100 calories

1 cup of ice cold skim milk
1/4 cup of crushed ice
1 ripe kiwi, peeled and sliced 

Reserve 1 slice of the kiwi and blend remaining ingredients until well incorporated. Decorate rim of glass with reserved kiwi. Serve while frothy and cold. You can also add a splash of sugar substitute if the skinny shake requires more sweetening powers.

There are a few species of kiwi - with the most common being gold and green. The golden kiwi contains 52 calories per fruit and about 112 calories per 1 cup of sliced kiwi. Be sure to get ample Vitamin C amid the peak cold and flu seasons and you may avoid these maladies.

As to the green kiwi, it just a tab smaller in caloric content.

1 teaspoon of dried cranberries plus 1 teaspoon of chopped walnuts
fruit-based low fat salad dressing

Simply combine all of the above ingredients and enjoy with a serving of buttery croutons. You can also add other nutritious foods to the salad such as sliced cucumber and shredded carrots.
