More of a dessert than a diet shake, our Mandarin Breeze will gently blow you away without blowing your diet away with you.

Delicious, refreshing Mandarin Orange slices mix with skim milk and healthy yogurt - a collection of island tastes that are yummy enough for the most particular of pallets.

Mandarin Breeze, a Diet Shake Recipe

Serves 1 for about 125 calories

3/4 cup of skim milk
1-3 packets of Sugar Substitute if extra sweetness is desired

3 Mandarin Orange Slices, drained

½ cup of fat free/sugar free plain yogurt

2-3 ice cubes

Toss everything except the yogurt into your blender or mixing bowl. Blend well, then gently stir in the yogurt. Pour into a glass that has been frosted, if desired.

Mandarin Mousse Recipe for Dieters

You can prepare this quick diet recipe with minimal ingredients in a flash. If you enjoy fluffy foods, this light dessert should fit nicely into your weight loss plan. You will need the following ingredients to prepare this recipe:

1 small box of vanilla pudding, instant low fat, sugar free variety (4 servings)
1 can of drained mandarin oranges with the juice
orange food coloring plus orange extract
1½ cups of reduced fat milk to prepare the pudding
1 small container of low fat whipped topping thawed

Take note that you'll only use about one-half of the recommended amount of milk to prepare our recipe. Begin by pouring the pudding mix into a deep bowl.

Add the milk and use a whisk to incorporate the milk and the pudding mix. Add the orange food coloring and orange extract. You can make the pudding as orange as you wish.

Keep whisking until the pudding is thick - and be sure to use cold milk for the recipe. Carefully fold in the topping and then fold in the mandarin oranges.

You can save the mandarin orange juice if you wish to enjoy on its own later - or you can add it to another recipe.

Transfer the mousse to a pretty peek-a-boo serving bowl and store in the refrigerator for at least two hours before serving. You can add additional topping to the top of the mousse if you wish.
