Diet Skinny Shake Recipe: Belly Bong

Skinny Shake Recipe Copyrighted by Diet Bites

The Belly Bong diet shake recipe features jelly beans - and who doesn't like jelly beans?

If you're a jelly bean fiend like me, try using Jelly Belly's - which has more flavors than colors in the rainbow. Make that 100 rainbows. Better yet, Jelly Belly makes awesome sugar-free versions of their delicious jelly beans so you can tweak this tasty diet shake recipe into a personal favorite flavor.

Belly Bong Skinny Shake Recipe: Serves 2  for about 120 calories each

2 cups of ice cold skim milk
1 Ounce of your favorite jelly beans

1-3 ice cubes

1-3 packets of Splenda or Equal if extra sweetness is desired

4 Tablespoons of whipped topping

Simply blend all the ingredients above in a blender EXCEPT the whipped topping. Start by adding about 1/2 cup of the milk to the blender; add the jelly beans and blend. Be sure to blend the jelly beans into drinkable bits; they should be very fine and no bigger than tiny ice crystals.

Add the remaining ingredients and blend until thick and smooth.

When the diet shake is thick, pour into a chilled glass and add the topping, along with a few jelly beans for decoration.

The Belly Bong diet-friendly shake is guaranteed to liven up parties and special events, and a drink that the host can serve without guilt.

Calories & Nutritional Values for Jelly Beans

Unfortunately, while jelly beans taste grand they aren't grand when it comes to nutritional values. One ounce equals about ten large jelly beans and contains about 105 calories. Therefore, each large jelly bean contains about 10 calories each. The small ones are about one-half the caloric values of the larger ones, so one ounce would equal twenty small jelly beans.

Jelly beans can also be used to decorate cakes and other desserts. The sugar free versions will add fewer calories and they really make the dessert pop. When our food appeals to our sense of sight, it tends to satisfy more than a food that doesn't look appealing. When a food looks beautiful, our brain may also be fooled into thinking that it tastes better than it truly is.
