Healthy milk and raspberries create a concoction that will satisfy the most picky of dieters.

Hummingbird Rush, a Diet Shake Recipe

Serves 1 for about 130 calories

1 cup of ice cold skim milk
1-3 ice cubes plus Splenda or Equal if extra sweetness is desired

1 cup of frozen raspberries (60 calories worth)

Blend all of the above skinny shake ingredients until frothy and thick. Enjoy as soon as possible.

The addition of ice in the shake is to assist in adding thickening power. The frozen berries may add enough thickening power without adding the ice - so you can always add the ice if the shake isn't thick enough.

Based on the nutritional data above, one raspberry contains 1 calorie.

There are about 64 raspberries in a cup. But to be accurate, those 10 raspberries are based on 19 grams as all raspberries are not created equally in size. One cups of raspberries equals 123 grams.

Raspberries are naturally low in dietary fat content with only 0.80 grams contained in a one cup serving - not even a full gram of dietary fat! Oh wow - is that terrific, or what.

Raspberries are best enjoyed all on their own particularly for those individuals who are on a weight loss plan. But they can be tucked into and inside of other healthy food selections.

- Add fresh raspberries to hot and cold whole grain cereals for additional flavor as well as enhanced nutritional values.

- Add to low fat ice cream selections. They go wonderfully well with all varieties of vanilla ice cream (be sure it's a reduced fat variety).

- Add to salads to create gourmet versions.

- Add raspberries to reduced fat yogurts. Again, the vanilla versions compliment the raspberry quite exceptionally.
