Break-proof your Diet Glass House with this tasty diet shake recipe that dares Diet Evil to toss stones.

An unbreakable mixture of skim milk, fresh lemons and gelatin create a crisp, fresh taste for about 110 calories per serving.

Glass House, a Low Calorie Diet Shake Recipe

Serves 3 for about 110 calories each

3 cups of ice cold skim or reduced fat milk (270 calories)
2 - 4 ice cubes of frozen lemon juice (from FRESH lemons – not the bottled stuff or your mouth will resemble a jute tobacco bag after 1 sip)

1-3 packets of sugar substitute if extra sweetness is desired

1 small box of lemon flavored sugar free gelatin

1 Tablespoon of grated lemon peel

Start preparing this recipe by mixing the gelatin with the lemon juice. Stir until the powder is fully dissolved.

Next, blend all of the ingredients until frothy. You can add the grated lemon peeling last by stirring it into the recipe if you like the peel a bit noticeable.

Be sure to serve the skinny shake when it's still ice cold. Might we suggest a light salad to accompany this delicious shake? Or perhaps a tasty, fresh baked potato served with light, reduced fat margarine.

Weight Loss Tips, Low Calorie Recipes for Lemons & Gelatin

How many calories are there in gelatin? If we're talking about plain, unsweetened and unflavored gelatin - we talking about a lot less calories than the typical commercially prepared gelatins found at the local market.

Most sugar free varieties of gelatin contain about 10 calories per serving while the varieties containing sugar contain eight times or more the caloric value. But the great news is that both varieties contain very minimal dietary fat content.

One great method of using gelatin in your weight loss plan is to add fruit to the sugar free varieties. You can opt for fresh, drained canned fruit, frozen fruit - or even some types of dried fruits will work well.

Here are a few of our favorite gelatin and fruit combinations as well as the caloric values and nutrition facts for unsweetened gelatin:

Cherry flavored gelatin pairs well with the following fruits: cherries, pears, peaches and apples.

Peach and apricot gelatin compliments the following fruits: peaches, apricots and banana.

Lemon gelatin goes well with the following fruit selections: apple, pear and pineapple. And of course, pineapple gelatin goes wonderfully well with pineapples.

Lime gelatin and kiwi, as well as honeydew melon pair well. Strawberry gelatin tastes best with strawberries or bananas.
