Non-Alcoholic Skinny Shake Recipe, Apple Slaw Recipe, Gourmet Salad Recipe

Sweet as apple pie, this diet shake is so tasty that even Johnny Appleseed would be impressed.

Healthy milk, delectable brown sugar, cinnamon and the all-important apples stack up to create a diet shake sensation.

Grab your hoe-down shoes and your best silver spoon, because this diet shake deserves only the best.

As to apples, they can be an essential part of your healthy weight loss plan. One small apple contains about eighty calories with the peeling.

They can be enjoyed in the raw, with a serving of reduced fat cheese, poked in the microwave and 'baked' with reduced fat margarine, ground cinnamon and a spoon of light or dark brown sugar added. So many options.

They even compliment your lower calorie salads wonderfully well. A mix of the following equals a gourmet salad that is often sold in fine restaurants for just under ten dollars. For that amount of money, you can almost feed a small army at home - and the flavors of our recipe are so delicious!

Now, let's get to our rocking skinny shake recipe, shall we?

Apple Pie Shake Recipe

Serves 3 for about 125 calories each

2 cups of ice cold skim milk
1 Tablespoon of light brown sugar

½ teaspoon of ground cinnamon

1/3 can of apple pie filling OR 1 can of apple pie filling made with Splenda
2-4 ice cubes

1-3 packets of Splenda or Equal if extra sweetness is desired

Simply blend all the ingredients above in a blender until thick. If you like your apples chunky, then leave them out until the very end.   Top with a bit of light whipped topping if desired for just a few more calories and sprinkle with ground nutmeg if desired.

Using Apples in Main Meal Recipes

Apples also go exceptionally well with pork. And we really like them tucked inside of slaw. Here is a very delicious weight loss menu:

Pork Chop: Pan roast or grill one small pork chop. You can use cooking spray to prevent sticking or just a small dab of vegetable oil. Be sure to add salt and plenty of cracked black pepper. Serve your pork chop with the following apple slaw recipe along with a whole grain roll, a serving of reduced fat margarine and a reduced calorie beverage.

Apple Slaw Recipe, a diet recipe

Recipe Ingredients:
2 cups of shredded common green cabbage
1 cup of shredded apples that have the seeds, peeling and core removed
1 teaspoon of orange juice
1 Tablespoon of Golden Seedless Raisins
1/4 to 1/2 cup of Miracle Whip Light Salad Dressing (use as much or as little depending upon personal taste)
Dash of Celery Seed (use sparingly)
1 Tablespoon of light or dark brown sugar

Simply combine all of the above ingredients. Be sure to coat the apples in the orange juice; the citrus will discourage browning of the flesh of the apple.
