Actually, for about 300 calories per nice slice it's not that bad unless one is on a very restricted weight loss plan. One slice of chocolate pie contains about the same number of calories as two single servings of regular yogurt - or an equal amount of calories contained in some pastries, muffins and cupcakes.

What about chocolate cake? Let's review the nutritional data for a cake from the bakery.

Oh yeah...it got a little ugly, didn't it? And if that cake is ordered in a restaurant it can contain 800 or more calories per jumbo slice. I've seen some with over 1,000 calories per slice. That's not that much less than many dieters set for their daily caloric totals.

Other than our skinny shake recipe we would also suggest a dark chocolate candy bar when those cravings hit and only chocolate will do. One single serving bar contains 180 calories. Hershey's makes a decadent, excellent bar.

Chocolate Covered Strawberry Calories

And finally, who can forget about chocolate covered strawberries? Go for the larger berries and go light on the dip. Be sure to dunk them into melted dark chocolate which holds more heart-healthy benefits than milk chocolate. One chocolate dipped strawberry contains about 50 calories.

The size of the strawberry doesn't impact caloric values as much as the chocolate dip as one small strawberry contains 2 calories and one jumbo strawberry contains 9 calories.
