Feeling Diet Success vs Feeling OverstuffedHow to feel good about dieting.Ken was on a diet and this time, he was determined to meet his weight loss goals. On his last diet plan, he had intended to drop 52 unwanted pounds, but something sidetracked him, and this time around, on this diet plan, he now has need of dropping 76 unwanted pounds. Ken is a bit depressed because if he would have stayed on his last diet plan, he could have accomplished his weight loss goals with a lot less effort. Dieting really stressed him out. Ken didn't like watching what he ate - not only the types of foods that he ate, but also the serving sizes and the amount of food. What a bother. Ken feared that if he didn't meet his goal weight this time around, then on the next diet circle, he would have need of losing even more weight. He realized at this stage that whenever he went off a diet, he would always add more unwanted weight. He knew why, too. It was because he would go nuts and binge the moment that he decided that his diet was over. He would eat everything that he loved, and didn't love. It didn't matter - the diet was over and he was finally free. All that Diet Stress just floated into nothingness. But unfortunately, a few days ago Ken finally recognized that a diet did matter. He didn't like the increased health risks due to his weight. His best friend Chester who was severely overweight had almost died. Ken didn't like the fat jokes at the office that always revolved around him, either. And he didn't like how he felt when he was overstuffed with food. And this single feeling was the key to keeping Ken motivated to stay on his weight loss plan. Ken would weigh each morning. When he saw the numbers decreasing on his weight scales, he decided that this feeling felt eons better than the feelings that he felt when he was overstuffed with food.
