How to calculate the calories in recipes. It's no surprise how quickly calories add up! If you are aware of the number of calories that your homemade goody contains, you add control to your diet plan. And while dieting, it's a very good thing to be in control! There are several ways to go about calculating calories in recipes; here are just three methods that we use in the Diet Bites kitchen:
Example: If you use 2 cups of flour and it contains 400 calories per cup, simply double that to equal 800 calories. Next, just add up all the calories and divide by the number of servings you anticipate.
Preparing your meals at home allows freedom to adjust the food to meet the needs of your healthy diet plan. If you experiment with diet-wise recipes, be sure to jot down your ingredients so you can prepare the goody again. |
