How can we count the many ways of the natural cranberry? From natural to dried to sauce, this little berry provides a lot of joy from such a little package. It's also mined with nutritional values too - and we'll delve deep into these later in this diet article.
Dried Cranberries, Very High in Calories
While this berry can assist in weight loss, we have to remain careful when it is in its dried and sauced state. If you're like me, you may absolutely adore the holidays and hold a fascination with the cranberry sauce bowl or plate.
Rather than leaving it in a gelled heap, it's a good idea to cut it into slices - and there are typically six to a can.
If it is in whole berry form, then this won't be an easy task, so it's best to limit serving to one Tablespoon when filling your plate. It's just too awesome in caloric content to go ape and it's too easy to go ape amid the holiday meal.
As to the dried variety - again, it contains a sugar-load of calories as does all dried fruits.
But a little can go a long way, and that's the wonderful thing about dried fruits. When you prepare your next salad, take it to the level of gourmet by adding a few dried cranberries along with a teaspoon or two of chopped English walnuts.
