Calories in lettuce - 1 cup contains 5 to 18 calories with butterhead lettuce weighing in at 5 calories per cup and Iceberg lettuce weighing in at 18 calories per cup.  Romaine is in the middle with only 9 calories per cup. These calories are based on shredded, raw lettuce.
Calories in carrots - 1 raw medium-sized carrot (about 2 1/2 ounces) contains 31 calories.

Diet Tip #1 - Controlled studies indicate that dieters who incorporate 3 cups of skimmed milk per day lose weight at a faster rate than dieters who don't. Calcium supplements don't achieve the same results - so bottoms up to white mustaches! One cup of skimmed milk contains a scant 80 calories.

Diet Tip #2 - Enjoy 1 egg per day, and that's according to the most recent guidelines set out by the USDA.  You should include any eggs that are used to prepare other items that you eat throughout the day - according to the recommendation. An egg white contains a mere 17 calories and zero cholesterol. When preparing your omelet, use 2 egg white to one yolk thus saving calories and clogged arteries.
