Need to sweeten up your diet?  Wake up your tastebuds with a delicious, low-calorie treat that's filling, economical and healthy!

Sugarcakes - The Low Calorie Recipe

What You'll Need:

1/2 cup of your favorite fruit (fresh, canned or frozen)

1/2 cup of lowfat whipped topping

1 dessert shell - or shortcake such as Dolly Madison's 4 in a pack (110 calories each) or you can use a slice of light angelfood cake

No Calorie Sweetener - Optional

Nutmeg, Cinnamon, Cocoa or Ginger - Optional

Simply top the cake with the fresh fruit; sprinkle on the sweetener, dollop on the topping. Dust with the spice of your choice, if desired. You can even cook the fruit!

Some great combinations are:

banana & cinnamon
strawberries & cocoa
peaches & nutmeg
pears & ginger
apples & cinnamon
