Packing On Pounds - Continued

The Connection:

Diet Bites - home of the free diet planners. Many times along Life's Path we see wondrous things to eat and drink such as cookies made by Mother and jumbo buttery biscuits made by adorable doughboys - and these goodies are just too hard to resist when we see them, and when we sniff them!

Diet Bites - home of the free diet planners. However, we know that if we eat all that we want to eat that we'll blow up bigger than the Goodyear Blimp.  So we offset that circumstance by enjoying a few goodies here and there.  We may not see a weight gain from our goody-eating spree.  Then one day, we jump on the scales and they are suddenly a pound more than usual.  But that's okay. It's only water weight, we convince ourselves....

Later, at lunch that day, the vending machine is stocked with fresh cupcakes that look like snowballs.  We enjoy an entire pack, then purchase another for later in the week. They are so fresh!

Three o'clock rolls around and the hungries hit.  Hum....those cupcakes were so yum at lunch, we think.  And before we realize, those cupcakes have jumped from their nicely wrapped package into our shocked little pieholes.  If that isn't embarrassing enough, our boss decides to walk by and catches sight of the ring of chocolate plastered around our mouth.

Oh well, who cares?  It's Friday anyway!

On Saturday, we try out the new Mexican restaurant with the happy waiters wearing sparkly sombreros and felt pants.  My, these tacos are tasty and the cheese enchiladas would do Rosarita proud!  Can't leave without trying out the giant pralines, can we?

Sunday afternoon, we enjoy a game of football vicariously by watching tv.  Hot wings, cheese dip, salty chips and cheese sticks are on our menu.  Nothing like hot wings to top off an Italian lunch.

Monday morning, we hop on the scales again and they nearly have a massive coronary from Weak Spring Syndrome, caused by an unaccustomed amount of weight being placed on them.

What???  How can our weight be up 5 pounds?  Boy oh boy - we sure ate a lot of salt yesterday, didn't we?

For the next few days, weeks, months and yes, sometimes years - we continue skipping through the Land of Fried Fries and Sweet Sweets.  Little by little our scales begin to reflect the impact that our happy indulgence has on our bodies. How oh how did we SUDDENLY pack on 75 pounds?

Suddenly?

Well, it may appear to have occurred suddenly when it was actually a slow occurrence.  Slowly but surely we experienced an increase in weight.  An unwanted increase, slowly but surely, packing on pounds.

Diet Bites - home of the free diet planners. Summing it up!

As you travel on your Life Journey, keep focused!  Sometimes seeing food or smelling food will trigger a Gobbling Attack.  If you are suddenly hit with this sensation, pause to think before your tongue strikes.  Ask yourself:

Did I just eat?

If so, do I really need the goody OR do I just want the goody?

If I eat the goody, will I be good and count it as part of my daily calorie requirement?

Of course you will!  You want a fun journey, a long journey and a healthy Life Journey!

Remember, one of the keys to diet success is to stop and think before you put anything past your lips.   And if you're currently packing a bit more baggage than you'd like to be, work to trim down and once you're there, strive to maintain your healthy weight. By doing such, your Diet Journey will be packed with fun, with longevity, with good health but NOT with unwanted pounds!
