Breakfast - 300 Calories (energy)

Due to cholesterol concerns surrounding eggs, we recommend using egg substitute. Use 75 calories worth OR scramble 2 egg whites + 1 egg yolk using a dash of milk and a bit of salt & pepper. Rather than using oil, opt for zero calorie cooking spray.
 
1 Piece of Whole Grain Toast (70 calories)
1 Pat of Butter
1 Spoon of Jam/Preserves/Jelly/Apple Butter (allow 50 calories)
1 cup of skim milk (80 calories)
Nutritional Notes: 1 protein, 1 grain, 1 dairy, minimal fat.

Mid-Morning Snack - 50 Calories (energy) - Use this link OR this link and choose wisely so that your calorie (energy) intake equals as close to 50 calories as possible. This link contains an article that you might enjoy and may be helpful in choosing snacks. Also, you may opt to choose up to 50 calories of your favorite food. As a note, we recommend choosing your snacks based on the diet menus of the day. For example, if the diet menus are sparse where fruit is concerned - opt for fruit. If they are sparse where grains are concerned, opt for a grain - such as 1/2 an English Muffin or 3 crackers - and so forth. Free Diet Planner Lunch -   500 Calories (energy)

  - Turkey & Cheese Sandwich prepared with 2 slices of 80 calorie or less bread, baby spinach or lettuce of your choice, sliced tomatoes, 1 slice of your favorite 80 calorie or less cheese, a few slices of deli sliced turkey up to 80 calories worth, plus a serving of either light Miracle Whip or your favorite variety of mustard. (about 350 calories).

Also enjoy 1 serving of your favorite chips - up to 150 calories.

Nutritional Notes: This free diet lunch menu contains 1  protein, 1 dairy, 2 grains, and 2 vegetables.

Mid-Afternoon Snack - 50 Calories (energy) - See notes above on Mid-Morning Snack.

Dinner - 500 Calories (energy)

Let's have some tasty roasted chicken for supper.

Low Calorie Ingredients for Quick Roasted Chicken

1 small chicken breast OR 1 large chicken leg OR 1 small chicken thigh OR 1 large chicken wing OR 1/2 large chicken breast
1 small baked potato (click here to compare calorie content in potatoes)
1 pat of butter or margarine
1 large salad containing the following mix: 4 cups of raw spinach OR lettuce OR a mix of both, 1 small chopped tomato OR 4 cherry tomatoes, grated carrot, 1 small sliced cucumber OR 1/2 large sliced cucumber, 1 Tablespoon of your favorite cheese, 1 serving of salad dressing containing no more than 60 calories. Optional: chopped mushrooms, chopped bell pepper OR your favorite peppers, chopped onions, sliced radish, raw broccoli, raw cauliflower, salt and pepper. The calories contained in these optional foods are extremely low and have a negligible impact on total calories.
1 whole grain roll OR bread of your choice up to 80 calories

Prepare chicken by using your favorite roasting method (grill, oven, stove top using a bit of cooking spray, etc.). Same with the potato (microwave, toaster oven, regular oven).

Nutritional Notes: This free diet dinner menu contains 1 protein, 1 grain, 3 vegetables and minimal fat.

Bedtime Snack - 100 Calories (energy)

Enjoy any of the float or shake recipes up to 100 calories. Feel free to experiment with flavors - adding extracts and spices. For floats, experiment with different varieties of sodas and low calorie juices, adjusting amounts of sherbet or ice cream when necessary. 1 dairy

Summing Up the Nutritional Notes: 3 proteins, 4 grains, 3  dairy, 5 vegetables, minimal fat + optional food choices from snack times. Please enjoy fruit during 2 snack times to equal 2 fruits plus any fruit enjoyed with the bedtime snack.
