Winter Time Blues Can Blow Your Diet

Although more people choose to diet this time of year than any other - it's a rotten time of year to try to lose weight based on the season.

Here we are - stuck inside the house. Cabin Fever sets in. What next? Unless we have a massive unit in the house (an exercise unit by the way) then odds are, we're apt to get in little activity.

But it doesn't stop here. Whether we switch on the tube - or bath in the Pool of Boredom, many individuals hear a tiny voice rapping on their pantry door, and let me tell you - this isn't a friendly raven - rather a ravenous appetite.

Yes - the Winter Time Blues sets the ideal situation for idle eating. We go to answer that tiny voice. We search - and we don't have to search long before something tasty comes into play. And we eat. Then we eat some more. And as we eat we think, " When on when will the sun come out to play so that I can to? I need to enjoy some daily activity. I need to quit idle eating. I need to lose weight. Gee - I'm stuck in a dark blue hole - the Winter Time Blues."

Given such, we thought it might be fruitful to offer the following suggestions which can assist you in getting in a bit more activity and that can help you get through the Winter Time Blues:

1. Go shopping!! Doesn't mean that you have to spend money, but walk-walk-walk your dawgs off. But don't eat one! Those mall dawgs are pricey when it comes to calorie and fat content.

2. Bundle up and head out to the zoo. Animals act much differently in cold weather than in the warmer months - so absorb nature at its best.

3. What about a few indoor sports? Bowling? Ice skating? Roller skating? If you haven't been in a while, don't forget to attach some extra padding.
