Subway Nutrition: 6" Sandwiches

Subway 6" Regular Sub Sandwiches
These are quite a bit more calories than Subway's low fat versions. The sub which is highest in calories on the data list below is the Chicken & Bacon Ranch Melt which contains cheese. It is also quite high in total fat content at close to 30 grams.
It does hold 35 grams of protein - which is a plus, but these sandwiches are so salty that most of the healthy nutritional values are canceled out due to the negative impact of excessive sodium.
This particular sandwich contains over 1000 milligrams of salt! This is like eating 1/2 teaspoon of pure salt. If you add other things to the sandwich, such as pickled peppers, pickles or black olives - the amount of sodium is going to spike even more.
The Meatball Marinara contains over 900 milligrams of salt while the Tuna Sub contains 600 milligrams.
The Philly Cheesesteak is close to 1300 milligrams while the Big Hot Pastrami contains almost 1500 milligrams of salt. It also holds 580 calories.
The Steak & Bacon Melt also holds over 1500 milligrams of salt.
If you are a heart patient you should ask your doctor about eating deli meats as well as how much salt you should consume daily. Let's just say that if we had heart issues - we wouldn't be ordering any of the subs below.
