Diet Bites Best Daily Diet Journal for January 12 Weight Loss " And the weight loss race begins....." Time to pause and see how your weight loss plan is going. If you aren't making progress, then it becomes too easy to ditch your diet. No one enjoys continuing with zero success and negativity whether it involves a job, a relationship or even a weight loss plan. It's in our drive to move forward - not backwards. With this said, please answer the following questions in part 1: Evaluating Weight Loss Success
We'll pause here to evaluate. At this point, you should have achieved an average 2-pounds-per-week loss of weight. There is one exception. If you have only been on your diet plan for a week or less, you may need to allow another week to pass to get a more accurate take. Be patient! YOU are worth it. Part 2 -Daily Diet Satisfaction If you aren't satisfied with the foods in your daily diet, then your weight loss plan is at high risk for fizzling. There are two types of satisfaction: #1. Taste Bud Satisfaction: Do you enjoy the taste and flavor of the foods within your daily diet? If not, odds are that you are opting for bland, tasteless foods that contain minimal calories.
Both contain the same number of calories, but for Amy the egg is much tastier. #2. Satiety Power Satisfaction OR Hunger Satisfaction: When trying to lose weight it's vital to consume foods that will keep you feeling full for longer periods of time. Therefore, another perk for Amy is that the egg is a great source of protein which will not only benefit Amy's muscles but will also leave her filling fuller for a long period of time. Part 3 -How do you feel? At this point, you should have more energy. You should feel as if the fog is lifting. You should feel less tired. You should be breathing easier. If you have just started your diet within the last two weeks - give this a bit more time. As the weight drops, you WILL feel great changes as well as see great changes! In Summary If you are on target with your weight loss plan - give yourself a reward but be sure to make it something that is not connected to food per say. For example, there are two types of kitchen goodies - those that go into the tummy and those that make things for the tummy. Opt for the thing that doesn't go into the tummy. Other good rewards include an article of clothing in a smaller size, donating the looser-fitting clothing that is currently in your closet. No need for temptation - but of course, don't strangle yourself in clothing that fits too tightly as you shrink into it as you'll end up irritable and uncomfortable, making weight loss less doable. Other suggestions include: a massage, a lingering shower or bubble bath, a good book (and the local library is a great free source!). Regarding Part 2 - if you aren't satisfied with your daily diet try inserting more foods high in fiber and protein - such as beans and eggs. Mix up your daily diet with new recipes.
