Yesterday we talked about the importance of relaxation - so today let's flip the coin and talk about the importance of activity. Wait! Don't run off just yet because this is going to be fun. Trust me. Yes I promise. We're not going to make a Exercise Naughty & Nice list.
Instead, let's discuss all the fun things that you can do this holiday season to burn a few calories and get your body in better shape. 
  Put up the holiday tree. All that bending and reaching you'll do will burn a lot of calories. Just make sure that any eggnog that is part of the festivities is light and is enjoyed in moderation - as well as any other holiday tree trimming party goodies. (Hint hint - reach for the fresh fruit.)
Deck the halls as well as the outside walls of your house with lights and holiday decorations. You'll burn more calories when you take them down after the holidays end.
Go holiday shopping. Parking your car a good distance from the Mall or store entry can help burn more calories.
Wrapping gifts burns even more calories - and it's fun.
Volunteer to help those in need. You'll not only burn calories, you'll also brighten someone's life - and you'll feel wonderful about your own self in the process.
Go caroling!
A few hours at your local market gathering food for the holidays will also burn calories. Take time to check the labels for calories and nutritional information. The healthier that you eat this holiday season, the better!
Enjoy a night out with friends and family doing something seasonal such as ice skating or sledding. Be sure to bundle up if you're going to be embedded in the elements.
Whether you're at a party or enjoying yourself at home, put on some holiday music and dance those pounds away!
