Breakfast - 300 Calories (energy)

1 bagel, any variety up to 230 calories (split the bagel in half if necessary)
1 serving of cream cheese up to 70 calories

Mid-Morning Snack - 50 Calories (energy) - Use this link OR this link and choose wisely so that your calorie (energy) intake equals as close to 50 calories as possible. This link contains an article that you might enjoy and may be helpful in choosing snacks. Also, you may opt to choose up to 50 calories of your favorite food. As a note, we recommend choosing your snacks based on the diet menus of the day. For example, if the diet menus are sparse where fruit is concerned - opt for fruit. If they are sparse where grains are concerned, opt for a grain - such as 1/2 an English Muffin or 3 crackers - and so forth. Lunch - 500 Calories (energy) - easily portable so you can take-along with you to work or when you're at play.

Tuna salad notes: Place all the ingredients in a container which can be sealed if you are dining away from home. Do NOT mix the dressing until you are ready to eat. As a note, Diet Bites has detailed calorie and nutritional information on the tomato contained in this tuna salad, which is located here.

- 1 small can of albacore tuna in water which has been thoroughly drained  (220 calories)
- 2 cups of finely cut lettuce (about 10 calories)
- 1 Tablespoon of golden or dark seedless raisins
- Tomato slices - or use a few cherry tomatoes to keep weeping at bay watery salads aren't fun!   (allow 9 calories)
- Totally optional: 2 sliced black olives, a bit of pickle relish, a sliced mushroom, salt, pepper (25 calories)
- 2 Tablespoons of Miracle Whip Light (40 calories)
- crackers (up to 100 calories worth)
- 1 small apple (calorie information on apples is located here at Diet Bites)

Low Calorie Recipe Flavoring Tip: Adding a dash of any of the following spices can zip-up this recipe: dill, dried cilantro, dried onions OR fresh chopped onion, lemon pepper.

Nutritional Notes: This free diet lunch menu contains 2  proteins, 1 grain, 3  vegetables, 2 fruits.

Mid-Afternoon Snack - 50 Calories (energy) - See notes above on Mid-Morning Snack.

Dinner - 500 Calories (energy)

Hot dog - it's time for hot dogs!! Hot dogs can be prepared in a manner so as you enjoy a lot of food for a minimal amount of calories.

- 2 reduced fat franks (total calories should equal no more than 220)
- 2 hot dog buns (200 total calories)
- Hot Dog Sauce (50 calories worth)
- Relish, chopped onion, mustard, sour kraut if desired

Spray buns with cooking spray and toast in a toaster oven or in a non-stick pan on the stove top. OR, for soft buns without a buttery crunch, wrap them in paper towels and warm a few seconds in the microwave after the franks have cooked.

To prepare franks, use a bit of cooking spray in a deep pan and cook until roasted on the stove top. You know what to do next - put your dawgs together as you like them. Take time to check out the sour kraut as it contains so few calories and adds that extra tang to hot dogs.

Nutritional Notes: This free diet dinner menu contains 3 proteins, 2 grains, 1 veggie when onion, relish and kraut are added.

Bedtime Snack - 100 Calories (energy)

Rum Shake: 1 cup of skim milk + 1 teaspoon of rum extract + 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract + dash and only a dash of ground nutmeg + Splenda (or your favorite sugar substitute)   OR sugar (white or brown). Take note that if you use a Tablespoon of regular sugar rather than a sugar substitute, use 3/4 cup of milk.   Add a bit of chopped ice (about 1 Tablespoon's worth) and blend or whip until thick.

Nutritional Notes: 1 dairy

Summing Up the Nutritional Notes: Today's nutritional totals are: 4 grains, 1 dairy, 5 proteins, 4 vegetables, 2 fruits   and minimal fat. We also recommend that you opt for a fruit snack and a dairy snack for snack times for a total of 2 dairy and 3 fruits.
